Mom's Visit

Days are flying, now I am in my 9th month and I was awaiting my mom's visit. She came on 25th Nov evening. I was waiting to eat her yummy home made food. After she had come, I had put on an extra 5 pounds of weight! She dint enjoy the cold, but liked the snow!

Baby Shower at Home

I was lucky to have 2 baby showers planned for me. I am in my 7th month. This one was at home, planned by Ram and my in-laws. Thank you all for showering you blessings and love.

Sweater for the little one!

Even before he was born...dresses are being bought and sweaters are made for him!!

 

Our little Krishna's first kick !

Today I am in my 24th week of the pregnancy! For the past couple of weeks, I have been reading about the flutter/butterfly kicks that the baby would do. But was wondering when would I feel my little boy and what would he be doing inside. The day wasn't too far....

It was Krishna Janmashtami (we call Krishna Jayanthi)..the day we celebrate the birth of Lord Krishna..We had our family here in Minnesota with us. I was helping my mother-in-law make sweet and food for the God. I had rested for sometime before getting ready for the pooja and going to the temple. It was then that I felt our little boy kick, I was so happy to feel him...especially on that day! I immediately called Ram and asked him to feel the kick as well. Our joy knew no bounds! It was a great feeling and I could feel the sense of motherhood. The best thing was we had our family with us to share the happiness as well.

It's a surprise!

Days are flying faster...I already had 2 scans and met the lil' one! The first time we saw the baby was on May 26th, I was 2.5 months pregnant then! The heart rate was 171bpm and was around 4cm in length.
The second time we had our scan was on June 18th, this time the baby wanted to wish the father 'Happy Birthday'! Ya...it was Ram's birthday and what better gift could his kid have given him for his birthday. We are happy to see the baby healthy and active!

This was the D-day! We were curious to find out what baby we are having. Now I am in my 5th month. We went for scan on August 12th, the technician told that we are having a baby boy!! the one which we all wanted... We were happy and felt that God has showered his blessing one more time!

Surprise Baby Shower!!

A surprise baby shower was planned by my friends on Aug 6th. I am in my 5th month. I really enjoyed every part of it. I would like to thank all my friends who made this possible. Love you all!

Summer Fun!

This is a picture at Vibha's Taal 2010 - A talent show organized by me along with two other people. It was a long stressful day..when I was 2 months pregnant!

The Bat(d) Night!!

Looks like this was the longest day/night we ever had! With so many things happening in the day and night, you must be wondering what else could have happened more...but there was a big surprise in store for us!
Ram was woken up by a clattering noise from the papers lying below our bed at around 3 in the morning. When we got up to see what it was, he says he saw bat flying out of the door...yeah you heard/saw it right...it was a BAT!! He tried to spot it again...but couldn't find it. When he told me this in the morning, I casually told him that it washis dream...but he was pretty confident. We tried to find the bat for the next 2 days but couldn't find it. So we were convinced that it was a dream only!
But then things changed...on Sunday night, we saw the bat lying on the kitchen floor..squeaking. Yucky! Since I was just 5 weeks pregnant, Ram asked me to go inside the room and lock it. But then he needed help from me to kill it..Darn!! And finally with all its squeaking and our nervousness...we killed the bat. Oh my god....what an experience!

After 2 days, on Tuesday the bat which was sent for testing was tested positive for Rabies and we had to be vaccinated with the rabies shots. Each of us have taken 4 shots in a span of 10 days...and so did our baby!
I realized how adventuress our kid is...that we had to experience such a ...... when the baby was only 5 weeks in my tummy!

The Big day!

It was April 15th and I had an appointment with my doctor to confirm the pregnancy. Ram wasn't there with me, as he was in New Jersey helping out his sister and brother-in-law who underwent a hip surgery.
I was excited and mixed with emotions. After giving the test, I waited for the doctor to come. Her name was Dr.Mary Ezzo. As soon as she came inside the room, she said "Congratulations! You are pregnant!". I was filled with joy but at the same time missed Ram being there :-(
I came home, called Ram to confirm the news and then informed my sis-in-law and brother. They were all excited as we were!!
I was waiting for 8pm, as Ram's flight from NJ was scheduled then. I went to the airport to pick him up. As soon as I spotted him, I hugged him and both of us congratulated each of us! I was ready with dinner at home, but Ram said lets celebrate the big day in a restaurant. So we went to Panino's - one of our favorite restaurants and had dinner.
There is still more left in the day....I mean night. We had to share this news with our parents. Their happiness and joy knew no bounds and they said we made their day!! I informed my sister as well, and she being a Gynecologist took my news like any other patient's and congratulated me :-)
